Playing with watercolour …

I have been playing with watercolor lately… a medium I love so much and yet used to be afraid of. It’s all about when to stop and when to carry on. I enjoy the process as much as the end result when the paint is completely dry. The first three images are all about watching colours blending and bleeding together which is very therapeutic – almost like meditation. As for the last one… what can I say… just can’t stay away from abstract! I’d love to hear from you if you have any comments or questions. Thanks for stopping by.

Born and brought up in Taiwan, Shuya Cheng now lives in the outskirts of Bath in the U.K. She divides her time in her studio between creating abstract paintings, primarily in acrylic but utilising a wide range of techniques and multi-media, and using her sewing machine to explore patterns, shapes and structures found in the world around us through free-hand embroidery. Her inspiration comes from both Western and Eastern culture.
